A Minnesota native, Steve Vecchi has been singing professionally for the past
35 years. Before specializing in vocals, Steve was a member  of the University
of Minnesota-Duluth Jazz Ensemble I, where he was  regularly featured as a
trumpet/flugelhorn soloist with such guest jazz  artists as Clark Terry, Marv
Stamm, Tom Harrell, Freddie Hubbard and  Bill Watrous. In 1974, Steve shifted
his primary focus to vocals, where  he performed as a lead vocalist in numerous
Minneapolis / St. Paul  show bands. In the early 1980's, Steve began writing his
own  compositions and concentrating his vocal studies to the “big band”  and
“crooner” styles, primarily due to his extensive jazz instrumental  background.
In 1990, working with the finest Minneapolis/St. Paul  musical arrangers, Steve
began developing a musical repertoire that  included 17-Piece Big Band
orchestrations of his original songs, as  well as some of the greatest musical
“standards” previously performed  by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis
Jr., Tony Bennett and  Bobby Darin. These quality musical arrangements
enable Steve to  re-create these great American musical classics to audiences
of all ages throughout the Unites States and the world.

During the past 19 years, Steve has been featured in numerous  national
shows, concerts, festivals and conventions throughout the  United States
including Las Vegas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Miami, Atlanta,
Orlando, Minneapolis / St. Paul, Milwaukee and more.  Steve Vecchi has
performed as the opening act for numerous national recording artists,
including B.B. King, Spryo Gyra, Louie Anderson, Connie Stevens,  The 4
Lads, The 4 Aces, Al Martino, Dick Contino, Bobby Lyle and Bill  Kirkenbaur.
Steve has also been featured at Disney World's Epcot  Center and in the
largest showrooms of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. In addition to the stage,
Steve's voice has been featured in  numerous local and national television and
radio commercials and he has had the rare opportunity to meet and talk
extensively, one on one, with Tony Bennett and the late Woody Herman and
Count Basie.

In his live performances, Steve also plays trumpet, flugelhorn and
various Latin percussion instruments, including congas and timbales.
Steve's versatile musical arrangements allow him the flexibility to
perform live utilizing a wide variety of band sizes, ranging from a 3-
Piece Trio up to a full 17-Piece Big Band.

In 2003, Steve developed the show concept entitled “Crooners” which
features the music of the greatest American crooners including Frank
Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett and Bobby Darin. In 2004, teaming with the
University of Minnesota – Duluth, Steve successfully “piloted” the “Crooners”
show during a tour of Sicily. Steve now offers this concept as a creative option
to a typical concert performance.

In 2008, Steve teamed up with his friend and musical colleague, Robert Baca,
to create and develop a “Tribute to Frank Sinatra” concert show. Mr. Baca,
famed orchestral and jazz trumpeter, has taught trumpet and jazz studies at the
University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire for the past 21 years and has previously
toured with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Mel Torme.  This “Tribute to Frank
Sinatra” show provides an introspective journey into the musical life and
influence of one of the greatest singers of all time by featuring vocal and
instrumental arrangements of Sinatra’s greatest songs. This Vecchi & Baca
musical collaboration is truly a show worth seeing. For more information, visit
